When Life Hits You Hard

There are times when life will hit you hard.  Make you fall to your knees.  Make you question yourself.  It is your response to these moments that will shape the rest of your life.

When life does not go our way, our usual response is to shut down, give up, and throw in the towel.  What we fail to realize is that it is in these “bad times” that we have the opportunity to grow stronger.  If it was a mistake you made, you can learn from it so that it never happens again.  If it was something that was out of your control, you suck it up and are now better prepared if the same problem should arise in the future.

It has been said many times that “it’s not about how many times you fall down, it’s about how many times you get back up,” and this is exactly right.  Do not dwell on the hard times or pity yourself.  This does absolutely no good.  Get back up, stand tall and remember that through it all, you’ve lived to see another day.  There is no greater gift than life itself.

If you do it right, you will become a better person.  You will realize that everything happens for a reason.  The challenge is figuring out what that reason is.

So the next time life hits you hard, you know how to respond.  Take control of your life.  No one should be in charge but you.

Do what you gotta do.

    Jayne,

Not surprising that some of what's written here you have already said and, most likely, many others have already said too! The hope is that more and more people will become familiar with this positivity. Life is hard, we know that. Anyone who says life is easy clearly doesn't know what they're talking about. There is so much to experience in life and if we let every mistake or every problem keep us down, we would never get anything done. So glad that you are enjoying the Live Life Blog so far and thank you so much for your support! It's nice to hear that these words are actually reaching out and making a difference.

Best of luck with your book and keep Livin' Life Every Day!

Hey "J" (Sorry I don't know your name :-) ) … I am floored. I don't know if you picked up from anywhere on my blog, but I am in the midst of writing a small part of a book My part is called "suck it up buttercup"… I may have to tweak the title a bit, because there is another book written with the same name that might add market confusion.

anyway… some of the things you said in this post are EXACTLY what I have said in my book.

My book is with the editor right now… but I am so intrigued that the first post I clicked on was this one.

This proves we ARE on the same page. Boy, if I had a nickel for all the times I've been knocked down… or even knocked myself down because of making mistakes… then all the times I've pulled myself back up, I'd be one of the richest women on the planet!

I'm loving your blog so far and I've only just begun.

    Keep up the awesome work.
